In early 2013, the world’s biggest technology company (HQ’d in Mountain View, California) set out a requirement for their biggest Telecom Research study. One of the world’s leading advisory firms (name starts with “McK” and ends with “insey”) put together a 40-member team to bag this project. Convergence Catalyst (CC), back then was a was a two-year old 4-member Research and Consulting firm.
CC Not only secured this project, but over the next six months delivered so well, that for over the next four years (post completion of the project), the client has been successfully implementing CC’s recommendations at the rate of one flagship project per year.
What worked in CC’s favor was the background of hardcore industry experience and a wide and deep network with access to industry executives, along with deep understanding of market behavior (based on experience of over 100 digital products’ launched), practical yet forward-looking approach, sharp instincts and a grounded approach. All these coupled with Business, Product, GTM, Investment Strategies and Planning experience.
These are the fundamental ethos on which Convergence Catalyst was founded, back in 2011. An unwavering adherence to these fundamentals is what helped the company thrive since. The name of the company – “Convergence Catalyst” – itself was based on the team’s innate passion and enthusiasm to play a ‘Catalytic’ role in the (then) upcoming Digital ‘Convergence’ (of technologies, businesses, products, behaviors and markets). We started as a Telecom, Media and Technology Research and Consulting firm in 2011, evolved into Emerging Deep Technologies and Digital Transformation advisory firm in 2016, and over the last few years have established a strong credibility, thought leadership, expertise and niche in Artificial Intelligence (AI). So much so that we are putting a stake in the ground and owning the AI domain expertise.
In short, “Clarity & Confidence” (also, CC :))! That is exactly what Convergence Catalyst provides! We help companies thrive… not just survive (for that the world has Big 4! :)).
Adopting the Taoistic “Scholar-Warrior” principles (amongst other things), while trying to stick to our existential tenet – “We cannot win, unless we help others win!”, we work on the basis of a strong connectivity tissue amongst snipers-like team members.
Convergence Catalyst’s clients include large global technology (Fortune 50) leaders, leading investment firms and mid-sized, forward-looking technology companies, startups, governments and industry associations from around the world. Had we proclaimed all of this back when we started in 2011, it would have amounted to a ‘Mission Statement’! But, now (in late 2024/early 2025) and with over 120 clients and growing, we can proudly call this “Our Journey… So Far!!”
